Breakthrough protection in-flight

SurfaceWise®2 creates an invisible barrier on surfaces which continuously breaks down and kills virus cells. American is the first airline to offer this breakthrough coating. We’ll be rolling out the treatment across our fleet in the coming months.

In addition to this revolutionary new coating, see how else we’re strengthening our Clean Commitment to give you peace of mind.

In the video, Alison discusses our efforts to seek accreditation for our cleaning and disinfecting protocols and shares more on upcoming efforts to care for travelers through every touch point.

In July, American announced it would only allow exemptions for customers under 2 years old. The airline requires all other customers to wear a face covering from the time they enter the airport where their trip begins until they leave the airport where their trip ends. In August, the airline announced additional requirements for the types of permitted face coverings.
